Sage & Apple Turkey Sausage Patties
By Sandra Woodruff

 Printer friendly page

Yield: 12 patties

1 pound ground turkey (at least 91% lean)
1 cup finely chopped peeled Granny Smith apple
1 teaspoon dried sage
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
scant 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper (or more to taste)

1. Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Cover and chill for several hours or overnight.

2. When ready to cook, shape the mixture into patties, each about 2 1/2 to 3 inches in diameter.

3. Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and preheat over medium heat. Cook the patties for a couple of minutes on each side to brown. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for about 4 minutes more or until cooked through. Serve hot.
