Green Peas with Pearl Onions

Yield: 5 servings

 

1 cup frozen pearl onions

2 tablespoons medium-dry sherry

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

10-ounce package frozen green peas

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 tablespoon margarine or butter

 

1. Combine the onions, sherry, and thyme in a medium nonstick skillet. Cover and cook over medium heat for several minutes, or until the onions are thawed.

 

2. Add the peas, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook covered for several minutes more, or until the onions and peas are tender. Add the margarine or butter and stir until melted. Serve hot.
