French Cut Green Beans with Almonds
By Sandra Woodruff

 Printer friendly page

Yield: 5 servings

2 tablespoons reduced-fat margarine or light butter
1 pound frozen French cut green beans, unthawed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup sliced almonds

1. Place the margarine or butter in a large skillet and place over medium-high heat just until the margarine or butter is melted.

2. Add the green beans and sprinkle with the salt and pepper. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 6 to 8 minutes, or until the beans are cooked crisp-tender. Reduce the heat to medium if necessary, to prevent the beans from browning.

3. Stir in the almonds, and serve hot.
