Cranberry-Cream Cheese Spread

Yield: about 1 1/2 cups

8-ounce block reduced-fat (Neufchatel) cream cheese
1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
Sugar substitute equal to 2 tablespoons sugar (optional)

1. Place the cream cheese and cranberry sauce in a mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer for a couple minutes until whipped and creamy. Beat in the sugar substitute if desired.

2. Serve immediately or cover and chill until ready to serve. Serve with fresh cut fruits and thin slices of whole grain bagels.
