I have your Good Carb cookbook and I just wanted to let you know that it is my favorite one. Every single recipe I have tried is a winner, and I am very fussy. I have recommended it to all my friends, but I wanted to tell you what a terrific cookbook it is..

Five years ago, fed up with the same old chicken and rice dishes that I created for myself, I decided to start checking out cookbooks from the library. Not caring much about healthy cooking at the time, I happened to pick up your book "The Best Kept Secrets to Healthy Cooking." Out of all the cookbooks that I've purchased or reviewed, yours has to be one of the best. Your directions are easy to follow and your ingredients can be used in a variety of your recipes. Before I began working with your cookbook, I was a horrible cook. I burned most things or felt disappointed concerning the lack of flavor or variety in my meals. Thanks to you, people now love my cooking and request recipe recommendations all the time. I've also recommended your book to at least ten people who have all fallen in love with it like me. Again, thanks to you I am now able to not only alter unhealthy recipes from other cookbooks, but I can also give healthy cooking advice to others. Needless to say, thank you for helping me become a better cook. Some of my best dishes have come right out of your cookbooks and everybody loves my food.

My wife has had a problem with losing weight and keeping it off for some years. Finally the doctor indicated that she had PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome). The Doctor prescribed medication to lower her insulin levels (high insulin contribute to the condition), however the medication made her nauseous. So being health conscious, we decided to do what we could to reduce insulin levels naturally and chuck the medication.
We found The Good Carb Cookbook in our local library, tried a few recipes and liked them so we bought the book. All the recipes are easy to make and NONE of them have received a thumbs down by either my wife or myself. Which is saying a lot because my wife is very particular.
I took the time to write because I felt that strongly about the quality of the recipes in the book... AND the doctor couldn't believe that my wife was no longer taking the medication because her tests had improved so much.

As a family nurse practitioner, I appreciate and utilize your books in my personal cooking life as well as medical practice. Healthful eating is the cornerstone of good health. When I came across your first book, I had been on an Ornish vegetarian style diet for a month, so I think I literally drooled when I was looking at the recipes in your book. That was back in 1994. I have continued to use and collect more of your books, and have shared them with my patients as well.
I think it's safe to say that before your cookbooks, I actually didn't really know how to cook. That it became a healthful habit, with the major benefits being that of excellent taste and adaptability says a lot. Your books transformed my home as well as many of my patients. Oh yes, and in my desire to go from unhealthy to healthy, I lost the 58 pounds I had gained while going through grad school...

I am a retired nurse and have been obese since I was 8 yrs old. I am now 66. If I had known about the glycemic index and good carbs when I was a young woman I never would have been obese. I am never hungry on this diet, I don't count anything, and it is not a problem eating out. I am not trying to lose the weight rapidly, just trying to eat healthy and I do lose about 2 lbs a month which is fine, because it is coming off and that's my goal. My husband enjoys the diet too. Thanks, again for your great cookbook, you have been a great inspiration to me!

Dear
Sandra--thanks so much for the Good Carb
Cookbook!! It was my bible when I first
started the South Beach Diet 70 lbs ago
and I have recommended it to anyone who
will listen. Your book explained things so
much better than the South Beach Diet book
did, in my opinion. Now I have been on the
diet for a year and I can take many
everyday recipes and adapt them. I watch
the fiber content and stay away from sugar
as much as possible. This is a great way
of life and you have helped make it so.
Thanks, Carole.

I
have been a weight watcher lifetime member
for about 2 years. I had to write you and
let you know how much I enjoy your
cookbooks. They are easy recipes to
follow. The ingredients are common things
that a person would have in their
cupboards, and they taste great!! I have
made a lifestyle change, and I want to
thank you for being a part of
it.

Thanks
for your great cookbooks. I have had
digestive problems for almost 7 years now,
and your recipes and instruction have
allowed me to eat foods that I think are
tastier than their "regular"
counterparts.
